Joe Garner got his Town career off to a goalscoring start as the former Rangers man netted a second-half debut goal to see the Blues to a 1-0 victory in their opening game of the season at Portman Road. Garner turned in a Jonas Knudsen cross five minutes after the break to win the game, however, the victory was marred by what appears to be a serious knee ligament injury sustained by Andre Dozzell just before the break. |

Town boss Mick McCarthy has confirmed new striker Joe Garner is over the shoulder injury he suffered at Charlton last weekend and will be available to make his debut in Saturday’s opening home game of the season against Birmingham at Portman Road. McCarthy also revealed that David McGoldrick and Bersant Celina, who both missed the Charlton defeat due to illness, could both also be in the squad. |
